Environmental Crime Control

Working outside you will take on the role of a crime-risk investigator and perform your own crime risk analysis of part of the Lasell Campus.
Directions:
1. Read through the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design .pdf on Moodle.
2. Choose a location on campus (e.g., a specific building or area such as a courtyard or field). Work to answer the three Ds from Appendix

A of the CPTED document.
3. In addition to the three Ds, analyze the areas using the rational choice approach of the Routine Activities Theory of crime from Chapter

3 of your textbook and below.
4. Create a brief report of the three Ds, your routine activities analysis, and a comparison between the areas. Please include what you

thought was a crime risk as well as other security measures that could be preventing potential crime in your areas. Explain your reasoning.
5. Be prepared to discus your findings for class on 3/11.
