Attitudes refer to your thoughts and opinions about objects, people, and ideas. One way to change your attitude is to create cognitive dissonance, an uncomfortable psychological state in which there are contradictions between your attitudes—your thoughts—and your behaviors—what you do. To resolve dissonance, you may either change your attitudes, or change your behaviors.
For this assignment, please address the following:
1.    In your own words, define what cognitive dissonance means to you.
2.    After considering the examples provided in the text, on the Wiley Media site, and in the lesson, provide a personal example of when you have experienced cognitive dissonance.
3.    In your example, how did you resolve cognitive dissonance? What can you do in the future to avoid cognitive dissonance?
4.    There are cultural differences in expressing cognitive dissonance. Provide one example of this.
