After readingChapter 14 “Europe and America, 1900-1945”, Chapter 15 “Europe and America after 1945” and watching the video “ Into the 20th Century” and “In Our Own Time” at http://www.learner.org/resources/series1.html —
• Choose one work of art from Ch 14 or 15 that you have difficultyunderstanding.
Write a 1-page paper that addresses the following:
• Identify the piece (10 points)
Include:
o Artist’s name
o Title of the work
o Medium used to create the work
o Dimensions of the work
o Page number where it’s located in the textbook.
• Explain what you find difficult to understand about it.(10 points)
• Explain the qualities and merits of the piece that make it worthy of being included in the study of Art History. You can include a description of the form and content as well as any art elements or principles that may be included. (10 points)
• Describe how you understand it better after studying and writing about it. If you still do not understand it then go back and re-read chapters 14 and 15 and try again.(10 points)
• Include and underline 5vocabulary words fromthe textbook.These can be any words that are specific to art history. Use them correctly in a way that makes their meaning clear. Be sure not to use words that are proper nouns or common terms. (10 points)
