Now, you are to imagine that you are an HR Consultant hired by Chef Ramsay to improve employee performance and morale at his restaurant. He asks you to observe the challenges and failures in communication between himself and his staff. Specifically, he asks for your feedback on three conflicts and/or breakdowns in communication.
What you are to do is provide him with three reports (1-1.5 pages each) that describe the problems you have observed and provide explanations on how to correct those problems.
Arbitrary Academic Restrictions: Your responses should engage with the theories and skills discussed in lecture and in the assigned readings. As a result of this being a take-home exam, I expect you to make use of the vocabulary in the textbook and the PDF files on Moodle. Your responses should be able to explain what the problem is (possibly even pointing to the location in either model of communication where the breakdown in communication occurred), provide some explanation of what factors caused the breakdown (speculate logically based upon your observations), and provide a logical, feasible method of resolution that will be positive for as many of the parties involved as can be. Yes, you can recommend employee termination if you can justify such a course of action.
N.B. While I know this will be a temptation, only one of your reports can critique Chef Ramsay for his colorful and entertaining language use. Please try to engage with communication among coworkers as well as between management (owners) and employees.
