Cabo Polonio: A look unto the Pillars of Sustainability

To investigate and critically evaluate Cabo Polonio’s National Park methodological framework for evaluation of sustainability indicators as a tourism destination. The research paper argues that one of the main factors in our inability to change the patterns of unsustainable development practices, is the lack of necessary societal structures and planning approaches for the management of local societies and their respective eco-systems.

Objectives : (Only require Objective One to be done)

Objective 1 – To analyse and critically evaluate sustainable development approaches and theoretical approaches to management of a regional destination (Secondary).

Objective 2 – To identify and understand if governmental policies and approaches are de facto helping the locals and biodiversity in Cabo Polonio (Primary).
Objective 3 – Discuss the residents opinions and contrast to the local authorities sustainable approaches in order to find out if the existing plan of Cabo Polonio system comprehensive, ecologically representative and effectively managed.(Primary/Secondary).

Objective 4 – To develop a set of conclusions for new developments and/or consolidated protected areas, highlighting responsible tourism practices across the board.
