What roles can and should human resources play to leverage diversity in the organization and what responsibilities should individuals take? In Week 6 you will think about and discuss the options.

To prepare for this Discussion:
Review the readings in Behavior in Organizations and Business: A Changing World about diversity and the functions/roles of HR.

Review the online reading: "Diversity in the Workplace".

Review the instructions for completing the Build Your Skill "Appreciating and Valuing Diversity" self-assessment in Business: A Changing World on p. 325-326. Complete the self-assessment, score yourself, and reflect on your scores.

Think about the benefits, challenges, and issues related to diversity in the workplace.

Consider what an HR department and you as an individual in an organization can do to foster the benefits and positively address the challenges and issues related to diversity.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 4 an explanation of what you believe to be the major issues in the workplace related to diversity and multiculturalism. Then explain the role(s) HR can play in promoting the benefits and addressing the challenges and issues related to diversity in an organization, as well as the role of the individual in doing the same. In both instances, provide specific examples.
