A Case Study on Withdrawal of Care

Patient is a 50 year old male who presents to the emergency department after being found down at his ophthalmology office. He was found in the stairwell. Speaking with his family it is noted that the patient has a history of epilepsy and had brain surgery two years ago. Patient’s family states recently he’s been generally fatigued and having passing out spells nearly daily. Patient had a bone marrow biopsy to evaluate for this fatigue at least from what they are aware of and this procedure was done at Mercy Hospital. Patient presented with a king tube in place after his cardiopulmonary arrest but the patient regained spontaneous circulation in route to the hospital. Patient is unable to cooperate with history and therefore the history of present illness is profoundly abbreviated.
